Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: Voting Schedule and Timings Announced
The Election Commission of India has officially announced the schedule for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, which will be conducted in two phases. The first phase of voting is set for November 6, 2025, covering 121 assembly constituencies, while the second phase will take place on November 11, 2025, encompassing 122 constituencies. The counting of votes for all 243 constituencies is scheduled for November 14, 2025.
General Voting Timings
For the majority of constituencies, polling will be held from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Voters who are in the queue by 5:00 PM will be permitted to cast their votes, ensuring that all eligible voters have the opportunity to participate in the electoral process.
Constituencies with Adjusted Voting Hours
In certain constituencies, the Election Commission has adjusted the voting hours due to specific logistical considerations. In the first phase, 10 constituencies will have polling hours from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. These constituencies include Kalyanpur, Warisnagar, Samastipur, Ujiarpur, Morwa, Sarairanjan, Mohiuddinagar, Vibhutipur, Rosera, and Hasanpur. Additionally, in the Suryagarha assembly constituency, voting will conclude at 4:00 PM at 56 designated booths.
During the second phase, four constituencies—Govindpur, Jamui, Jhajha, and Chakai—will have polling hours from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, reducing the standard voting period by two hours.
Electoral Logistics and Security Measures
Bihar’s final electoral roll includes 7.42 crore registered voters, comprising 3.92 crore men and 3.5 crore women. To facilitate the voting process, 90,712 polling booths have been established across the state, with an average of 818 voters assigned to each booth. To ensure a smooth and secure election, more than 500 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) will be deployed throughout the state.
Voters are encouraged to verify their polling stations in advance, which can be done through the Election Commission of India’s official website or the Voter Helpline App. Additionally, it is important to note that voters will be required to deposit their smartphones outside the polling room to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of the voting process.
As Bihar prepares for these crucial elections, the Election Commission urges all eligible voters to participate actively and responsibly in shaping the state’s future.
