Indian Railways Expands Vande Bharat Express Network with Four New Routes

On November 8, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated four new Vande Bharat Express trains, enhancing connectivity across key regions in India. The newly introduced routes are Banaras–Khajuraho, Lucknow–Saharanpur, Firozpur–Delhi, and Ernakulam–Bengaluru.

Enhanced Connectivity and Reduced Travel Time

The Banaras–Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express establishes direct connectivity between these two historic cities, reducing travel time by approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes. Similarly, the Lucknow–Saharanpur route aims to bolster regional mobility, while the Firozpur–Delhi and Ernakulam–Bengaluru services are set to promote tourism and economic activities by facilitating faster travel between these major destinations.

Operational Details and Schedule

These new Vande Bharat Express trains are scheduled to commence regular operations from November 9, 2025. Each train is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, including comfortable seating, advanced safety features, and onboard catering services, ensuring a superior travel experience for passengers.

Future Expansion Plans

In line with the government’s commitment to modernizing the railway network, the Ministry of Railways has approved the introduction of additional Vande Bharat trains, aiming to increase the total number of such services to 164 in the near future. This expansion is expected to further enhance connectivity and support economic growth across various regions.
