Maharashtra Government Mandates e-KYC for Ladki Bahin Yojana Beneficiaries

On September 18, 2025, the state government issued a resolution requiring all beneficiaries to complete the e-KYC process within two months. This measure aims to ensure that only eligible women receive the monthly assistance of ₹1,500 provided under the scheme.

Rationale Behind the Mandate

The decision to implement mandatory e-KYC follows the discovery that approximately 2.634 million ineligible beneficiaries, including men, had enrolled in the scheme and received allowances. The scheme currently serves around 22.5 million women across the state.

e-KYC Process and Deadline

Beneficiaries are required to complete the e-KYC process by November 18, 2025. Failure to do so will result in the suspension of benefits. The e-KYC process is accessible through the official portal, ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in, and must be completed annually.
