Mammootty Clinches Ninth Best Actor Award at 55th Kerala State Film Awards
On November 3, 2025, the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy announced the winners of the 55th Kerala State Film Awards, celebrating the finest contributions to Malayalam cinema in 2024. The ceremony, held at the Kerala Sahitya Academy Hall in Thrissur, was presided over by Minister of Cultural Affairs Saji Cherian. A total of 128 films were submitted for consideration, with 38 making it to the final round.
Mammootty’s Historic Win
Veteran actor Mammootty secured his ninth Best Actor award for his compelling performance in “Bramayugam.” This achievement further cements his status as one of the most decorated actors in the history of the Kerala State Film Awards.

Shamla Hamza was honored with the Best Actress award for her role in “Feminichi Fathima.” The film “Manjummel Boys” emerged as the Best Film, with its director, Chidambaram, receiving accolades for both Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. “Manjummel Boys” dominated the awards, securing a total of ten honors.
