Chennai, November 10, 2025—Tamil actor Abhinay Kinger, renowned for his role in the 2002 film “Thulluvadho Ilamai,” passed away early Monday morning at the age of 44. He succumbed to complications arising from a prolonged battle with liver disease.

Abhinay made his acting debut in 2002 alongside Dhanush in “Thulluvadho Ilamai,” directed by Kasthuri Raja. The film’s success catapulted both actors into the limelight. Following his debut, Abhinay took on lead roles in films such as “Jjunction” (2002), “Singara Chennai” (2004), and “Pon Megalai” (2005). In the late 2000s, he transitioned to supporting roles, featuring in movies like “Solla Solla Inikkum” (2009) and “Palaivana Solai” (2009). His final on-screen appearance was in the 2014 comedy “Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham.”

Health Struggles and Financial Hardship

In recent years, Abhinay faced severe health challenges due to liver disease. In a heartfelt video message, he revealed that doctors had given him an estimated one and a half years to live. The escalating medical expenses led him to seek financial assistance. Comedian KPY Bala responded by donating ₹1 lakh towards his treatment, and his former co-star Dhanush contributed ₹5 lakh to support his medical care.

Final Days and Funeral Arrangements

Abhinay resided alone in a rented home in Rangarajapuram, Kodambakkam. Following his passing, the South Indian Artistes’ Association (Nadigar Sangam) has taken responsibility for arranging his funeral, as he had no immediate family members. Fans and colleagues from the film industry are mourning his demise, remembering him for his contributions to Tamil cinema.
