Tragic Crash in Ybor City Claims Four Lives, Injures Eleven
In the early hours of November 8, 2025, a high-speed police pursuit culminated in a devastating crash in Tampa’s historic Ybor City, resulting in four fatalities and eleven injuries.
Sequence of Events
At approximately 12:40 a.m., a Tampa Police Department (TPD) air unit identified a vehicle traveling recklessly at high speed on Interstate 275. The vehicle was suspected of engaging in street racing activities near Hillsborough Avenue and 22nd Street. Upon exiting the interstate at Doyle Carlton Drive, the driver continued to evade law enforcement, leading officers through the city streets.
Both TPD and Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) units attempted to intercept the vehicle near Palm Avenue and Nebraska Avenue. Despite efforts, including an unsuccessful Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, the driver persisted eastbound on 7th Avenue. As the pursuit approached the densely populated Ybor City district, FHP disengaged to prevent potential harm to bystanders.
Impact and Casualties
The fleeing vehicle lost control and crashed into Bradley’s on 7th, a popular bar located at 1510 E. 7th Avenue. The collision occurred while numerous patrons were gathered outside the establishment. Tragically, three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, and a fourth succumbed to injuries at a local hospital. Among the injured, one person remains in critical condition, while eight others are reported to be in stable condition.
